About Me
Kelley Knudson was born in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. At a young age she developed an interest in fashion while watching her grandmother sew clothes and home goods for Kelley and her sisters. Her grandmother passed along her skillset by teaching Kelley to sew and then later to knit and crochet.
This interest lead her to attend Columbia College Chicago, where she received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts with a focus on Fashion Design. During her time at Columbia College Chicago, she had the opportunity to participate in a summer semester program in Los Angeles, where she studied Costume Design. It was there she found a passion for using her love of fashion design and history to create costumes for characters.
After graduating, Kelley moved to Los Angeles to begin her career working with costumes in television and film. Wanting to understand and hone skills in all aspects of the costume department, she began her journey working as a Costumer alongside talented Costume Designers, taking the time to learn all the nuances of costume design.
For the last 12 years Kelley has been working as a Costume Designer, bringing an array of characters off the page and onto the screen.
In her free time, Kelley continues to knit and sew. She also loves to explore the outdoors with her husband and Australian Shepard, Willow. She enjoys traveling to new places, and finds inspiration in nature, architecture, history, and in the real life characters she meets along the way.
